How We Test
- Standard stain panel: Red wine (Merlot, 24h), instant coffee (dried overnight), tomato sauce (fresh), muddy boot print (1 week), pet accident simulation, Ribena (24h)
- Stain removal scoring: Before/after photographs under controlled lighting. Scored by 3 independent assessors on a 0-100% scale
- Drying time: Measured with a moisture meter at 30-minute intervals until carpet reads below 15% moisture content
- Weight and ergonomics: Empty and full weights measured. Usability scored on a 10-point scale covering manoeuvrability, filling, emptying and storage
- Long-term reliability: Key products remain in our test fleet for 6+ months. We track motor performance, brush wear and pump reliability
- Running costs: Solution consumption per clean, electricity usage, filter/brush replacement intervals and costs
